Freshly refinished hardwood floor

What to know

Refinishing is half the cost of replacement.

What refinishing actually is

We sand your existing hardwood down to bare wood — removing scratches, old finish, and discoloration in the process. Then we apply a new stain in whatever color you choose, and seal it with several coats of durable protective finish. The result looks brand new. Often better.

When it makes sense

Real hardwood (solid or engineered with a thick enough veneer) can typically be refinished several times over its lifespan. If your floor is genuine wood and structurally sound, refinishing is almost always more cost-effective than replacement. We can tell you in minutes whether your floor is a candidate.

Change the whole look

Maybe your floors are fine, but the color is dated. Refinishing is a chance to totally change your home's aesthetic — go from honey-oak to modern espresso, from red-tinted to neutral gray, from glossy to matte. Same floor. Completely different room.

Why refinish

The smartest move for real hardwood owners.

Many homeowners don't realize their existing floors can be completely transformed for far less than replacement — without landfill waste, without demo, without the disruption of ripping everything out.

  • Half the cost of replacement. Keep your original wood, get floors that look brand new.
  • Change the color. Go darker, lighter, warmer, cooler — total aesthetic overhaul.
  • Preserve your home’s character. Original hardwood adds real value, especially in older homes.
  • Less disruption. No furniture out of the house. No demolition debris.
  • Faster than replacement. Typical refinish takes 3-5 days, including dry time.
  • Eco-friendly. No landfill waste, no new material harvesting.
